|President, Nicole Hunter (San Francisco University High School)
Nicole Hunter has been the librarian at San Francisco University High School since 2006. She is passionate about research and teaching students how to identify and assess sources in the ever deepening sea of information that we live in. She has beenan integral part of many school initiatives, from helping to implement the school’s iPad program in 2010 to being part of UHS’ well-regarded student mentoring program. She is equally interested in the analog and digital worlds and intermingles them on the podcast she hosts about her favorite craft: knitting.
|Vice-President, Liz Price Patel (Redwood Day School)|
|Liz Price Patel is enjoying her sixth year as Head Librarian and Middle School Dean at Redwood Day in Oakland, CA. For the past 27 years, she has worked in and around school, public, and university libraries, including her high school and college alma maters: Ursuline Academy in St. Louis and the University of Chicago. When she's not hard at work, she can also be found happily exploring Bay Area nature and traveling farther afield when she can.|
|Treasurer, Brian Thomas (Saint Mary's College High School)
|Brian Thomas has been a teacher at Saint Mary's College High School since 1998 and, even better, a teacher-librarian since 2008. Before earning his librarian chops, Brian taught English and knows the joys of teaching expository writing both in the classroom and the library. He lives in Lafayette with his wife, daughter, and cat where he likes to cook and use our organization's namesake as an ingredient.|
|Secretary, Susanne DeRisi (Synergy School)
Susanne is the librarian for grades Young K - 8th at Synergy School in San Francisco. After getting her library degree in the early days of the internet explosion, she worked as a web producer and then in online scholarly publishing. Before becoming Librarian at Synergy, Susanne was a parent volunteer and had the good fortune to be mentored by Librarian Carolyn Karis.
|Membership Director, Mark Roquet (Seven Hills School)
Mark Roquet is a librarian and history teacher at Seven Hills School in Walnut Creek. Mark has worked at school, law, and special libraries and in the educational software field. He believes school libraries are the best places. He lives in Benicia with his wife Katherine and their beloved beagle mix Pepita.
